"I've confronted plenty of scary stuff so far. But there's one thing that scares me more than anything... And that's going back to how I used to be! That's why I never want to regret anything ever again!"

Asahi Hikaru is the Sixth Hoshikage (三代目星影, Roku-banme Hoshikage, literally meaning: Sixth Star Shadow) of Hoshigakure. As one of the Shinobi World's most battle-tested warriors, he has faced immeasurable adversity that has honed him into the perfect soldier. Formerly under the tutelage of his predecessor–Matsuno Tetsuo–there is no foe that strikes fear into the renowned Shinobi turned Village Leader, and there is nothing he wouldn’t do to save the lives of those around him.

Appearance[]

Asahi is a tall, slender individual with white hair that spikes upward around his head, hanging low over his mystical-looking eyes. His attire consists of dark-and light-colored robes layered over light-colored trousers, dark-colored boots, and a padded, light-colored shirt with a high collar. Tied around his waist are several belts with a long cord attached to one of them. He wears a long, hooded white robe ending in purple lines with sleeves extending past his hands, and a black shawl over his shoulders and upper chest, held by a long ornament.

Background and Personality[]

Asahi is predominately characterized as hardworking, talented, and a natural genius. Highly perceptive and good with problem solving skills, Asahi is a skilled planner and good at mapping out scenarios. Furthermore, Light is very popular among his peers and adored by his family members. However, his high intelligence and constant praise from adults have laid the foundations for an intense level of hubris that sits deep within the young man, being ground into his very bones at this point in his lifetime. The degree of Asahi's hubris and ruthlessness varies. At times, Asahi is steadfast in his decisions as Kage and rarely expresses any doubt in his actions. However, it is sometimes depicted as less confident, demonstrates hesitation, and even considers abandoning his missions when feeling cornered. Nevertheless, Asahi is consistently been portrayed as an idealist and as an individual who is willing to go to extreme measures in order to defend his ideals and village.

He prefers not to right off the bat engage someone in battle but rather to talk them out of the fighting spirit by explaining how their own power cannot overcome his own. However if the situation requires it he will engage himself in the heat of battle and will be fully incensed on coming out the victor and is not above speaking to his opponent with the demeanor that makes them feel humiliated, all a part of his effort to break the will. Despite his nonchalant attitude he speaks politely and calmly and also being of high-ranking status within his own village he is often marveled at by his raw power.

Now despite Asahi's apparent, almost paternal, kindness to others he isn’t the sort to beat around the bush nor sugar coat things—honestly he is frank to the point that those who are unfamiliar with him mistake his bluntness as an attack, especially if they are far more sensitive or the sort to be easily irritated. While Asahi certainly does maintain civility in most situations, rarely letting his compartmentalized anger bubble outside of battle or when alone, he is known quite famously for his assertiveness even in simple conversation. He naturally does not cede to most authorities, not out of disrespect but simply being a person of rationality. He would rather rule with logic than being ruled by his own emotions which can sometimes create a disparity between him and those more in touch with their passions. This assertiveness to following his own rational neutrality does in fact though tether into his own selfish confidence; obviously a man of pride, he does attempt to reign himself in with his own self-discipline but his ego often bates him into playing the Debater. Simply put though, Asahi is confident in his process and that can make him argumentative in conversation.

Abilities[]

  • Ninjutsu

Asahi's Ninjutsu skills are a force to be reckoned with, his ability to be able to cast Academy to B-Rank Jutsu with little to no effort are truly awed within his Village. Before advancing his art in Ninjutsu, Asahi studied the use and applications of many Jutsu to grasp the true concept of the arts themselves. The motivation in learning high-level Ninjutsu was mostly brought upon by his hidden goal to challenge a certain man within the Shinobi World. This path led him to continue exercising his mind and skills to add such a deadly art into his arsenal. Most Ninjutsu Asahi cast have increased efficacy, to the point where their strength could be undeniably stronger when cast from an average Shinobi.

  • Kenjutsu

Asahi has a firm grasp on how to utilize his weapon to accommodate his overall fighting style. Within his duration as a Jounin, he had extensive training which led to experience being one with his weapon. Maturing from a simplistic state of simply seeing the blade as a weapon itself, Asahi is one with his blade. With this knowledge, his abilities are rather formidable. He can utilize his overall natural speed, and even his height to pull off rather quick attacks, building his momentum and kinetic energy for devastating techniques such as rotating himself in a circular motion while reverse gripping his blade to attack, defend, and move all in one motion – able to practically become a swirling blur in one’s vision. After significant time and training with his Kenjutsu, Asahi became more adept at using his weapon, with years to train, his swordsmanship grew to the point of being able to use his weapon to readjust, attack, defend parry, and block in order to perform tasks that he used to only rely on speed for due to his weaker composition. With his older and stronger body, Asahi is able to use his strength and speed to move his weapon with the ability to remove any part of a given body with ease.
