General Overview - By mastering Foxfire, users can envelop themselves in a chakra cloak. This process involves heating their cells, originating from the heart and coursing heated oxygen through every cell. This enhances their strength, agility, and potential for flight. However, it exhausts the user's chakra and oxygen reserves, demanding constant attention to energy levels. It also depletes the opponent's chakra while inflicting burn damage, making it advantageous in Taijutsu. While aiding Foxfire techniques, it intensifies chakra consumption, shortening the time limit before the cloak consumes the user, reducing them to ashes. As mentioned below, the lesser and less risky-to-use variants exist for Genin and Chuunin-level Kitsune. It should be noted that due to how the technique works regardless of the variation, the flames take on a liquidly-texture, as well as taking on a scarlet coloration along with the user's hair, eyes, eyebrows, ears, and tail(s) taking on a vibrant crimson coloration. The skin also takes on a darker shade of tan as well.
- Important Note - Lesser yet easier-to-use variants of this technique exist for those of Genin or Chuunin level. A Fire-Style Chakra Cloak is most recommended for Genin, especially those just starting out. Chuunin begin to learn how to mix Yin or Yang into their Fire-Style Chakra Cloak, usually for various effects in exchange for the increased chakra consumption and control required. However, the full Kekkei-Tota variant is restricted to Jounin-level and Kage-level Kitsune, and only after they've mastered the prior versions of the chakra cloak. The "Foxfire-Release Chakra Cloak" in its strongest form is the most chakra intensive, and risks killing the user if the caster isn't careful instead of merely sputtering out. Furthermore, the completed Kekkei-Tota version of the chakra cloak is noted to possess all the benefits of its Fire + Yin, and Fire + Yang variants.
- Technique Pros - Doubles the caster's Strength, Durability, and Speed each. Makes it faster and easier to use all of the caster's known Foxfire-Release Techniques. Also enables flight. Can be used for 3 of the caster's turns. 5 turns if the caster is Kage-Level in ability, rank, or both. While it's impossible to increase the time limit for this variant of the technique due to the rapid chakra consumption, it's entirely possible to at the very least pre-program it to deactivate itself instead of killing the user outright due to the cloak still being considered Majutsu... Even though this would do nothing to prevent the oxygen poisoning or every bit of other damage inflicted to the user's body from the strain of such a massive boost.
- Technique Cons - Can only be used for 3 of the user's turns before the caster runs out of usable chakra, after which the caster must deactivate it or perish at the end of their next turn. Using additional jutsu reduces the available number of turns by 1. Meaning, when using this version of "Foxfire-Release Chakra Cloak", the caster can only use up to 2 other jutsu if the caster wants to get any use out of this version of the chakra cloak. Kage-Level users have a limit of 4 other jutsu uses. Due to just how rapid the drain of chakra is, it's also impossible to train this variation to increase the time limit. Furthermore, even if the caster deactivates the technique before they're consumed by their own technique, the strain placed upon their bodies is so great that the Kitsune in question is rendered bedridden for two weeks at the bare minimum (meaning if they're lucky and didn't even do that much), while the oxygen poisoning renders the caster unable to use any further Fire-Release jutsu for at least a month - not without making the user's condition more severe. (Note: Yes, this is especially true for Foxfire-Release Techniques.)
Variants and their Respective Functions[]
Fire-Style Chakra Cloak - A basic Fire-Style chakra cloak. Using chakra flow, the user channels Fire-Release chakra through their bodies outwards from the heart, heating up their cells via heated oxygen. This enhances their strength and speed by making their bodies stronger yet lighter, thus also enabling some degree of flight. This form is also advantageous in Taijutsu since it causes burn damage on contact. Due to fire chakra typically consuming both chakra and oxygen, it continuously consumes that of the user. However, out of all the known Chakra Cloaks of the Kitsune Clan, this variation consumes those the slowest - and can therefore be used the longest in exchange for also being the weakest and having the least utility, since it offers no other benefits. However, since this version tends to sputter out once the user no longer has enough chakra to fuel it with, this is also the safest variant to use... Effectively making it perfect for Genin and freshly-promoted Chuunin.
- Technique Pros - Grants a +1 Boost to Strength and Speed each. Makes it faster and easier to use the caster's known Fire-Release techniques without wasting chakra. Can be used for 5 of the caster's turns. Jounin-level users can use it for 7 turns, and Kage-level users can do it for 9 turns. Unlike the complete Kekkei-Tota version of the chakra cloak, the cloak merely sputters out once the caster runs out of usable chakra.
- Technique Cons - Use of additional jutsu depletes the user's available turns with the Fire-Release Chakra Cloak by 1. While the process isn't nearly as rapid as the more advanced variants of the chakra cloak, it also inflicts oxygen poisoning, making it inadvisable to use any variant of the chakra cloak more than absolutely necessary.
