Kiyooki(きよおき, Early Rising) is a Transporter Shinobi and member of the Aburatōrō Clans', Ignoble Thrifting Agency who specializes in delivering packages between the districts. As a Shinobi he tries to avoid drawing attention to himself outside of his family inspiring rumors that he hasn't lived up to his full potential due to lack of ambition despite his advanced age as a Chunin. Thus, earning him the moniker of the Lazy Treasure(怠惰な宝物) amongst his familial peers.
Collective Theme[]
The Clan abilities were inspired firstly by Konan from the original series, but the paper doll forms of Shikigami wielded by Onmyoji are the motif here. Both of these are blended with the idea of transportation, curses, and restriction spells when it comes to techniques.

Personality[]
Kiyooki is a suspicious person by nature. No longer silent as he had been in his childhood, he speaks for the sake of getting into the good graces of others. Especially if they happen to be someone in position where knowledge gathers naturally. Yet he doesn't see the point in pretending to be someone he isn't. So, he'll never fake a smile or try to soothe over someone who happens to hate him. Surprisingly enough he also doesn't lie either. At least not when it comes to things that truly matter. While he isn't terrible at keeping secrets, he'll readily advise anyone he comes across not to share their secrets with him since they'll only serve as blades, he makes use of in the future if they were ever to become enemies.
With the only exception being secrets relating to his clan's business dealings and the packages he has been tasked with handling as a Transporter. Surely it was an unbecoming trait for a shinobi, but the need for honesty mattered more than anyone would ever know. Not because he valued it highly but rather because he thought that genuine honesty would lower the guards of those who had been accustomed to lying or keeping secrets throughout their careers. Speaking of careers throughout his time as a shinobi he has only killed a handful of people. Preferring to spare or capture those who oppose him for the sheer sake of not making any powerful enemies by killing someone they adored or held in high esteem without even realizing what he'd done. To avoid such situations, he limits killing to his last resort out of a pure desire to avoid stepping on a landmine.
Background[]
If you were to ask a member of his family to describe Kiyooki they'd describe as stoic under most circumstances. As a boy he had trouble opening up to others and spent most of the time with his head in a book. That is when he was alone at least. Ask his mother and she'd tell you the fool hadn't smiled since he popped out the womb. Might not have been an exaggeration on her part but they all knew the reason for it. It's a well-known fact that the Aburatōrō is a clan that dotes on twins and Kiyooki was the eldest of the latest set. Showing no desire to become a shinobi nor inherit a position in the businesses of the clan many thought he planned to live on the family dime for as long as he could. All the same he kept up with his studies as best he could. More actively devoting himself to learning about their history of a clan. He'd always been interested in knowing how the clan came to be and why they turned out the way they had now.
Unlike himself his twin sister Katsuie was full of vigor, with a smile bright enough to blind an entire room when she bounced on through it. Focusing more on the future than the past she strove to pave out a path in front of them rather than protecting the one left behind. Katsuie had always been the one leading them both despite being younger, and many thought she'd stick with the clan as the 'Face' of their pair who handled the business affairs. Unfortunately for them she wanted to be a shinobi despite never saying it in so many words. Kiyooki knew better and planned to give way to whatever choice she made in the end.
Yet that option never came. Katsuie experienced an unfortunate reaction to the Revolving Gate Seal implanted on them as their traditions dictated. It was well known that it had been incomplete this entire time but there were never any major incidents before. Luckily his sister was stabilized but the seal couldn't be removed without possibly killing them both, so she was officially pronounced dead to the rest of the clan despite having fallen into a coma. This incident alone changed Kiyooki drastically. While he'd never shown interest in being a shinobi before he'd eagerly changed his mind. Devoting himself to training the clans techniques to the best of his abilities in hopes of discovering what went wrong with the seal that connected the two of them. That meant trying to uncover the lost secrets of times long gone by discovering who destroyed the clan archives in the first place. That was his only hope in saving his sister. But for that he required power no matter how long it would take.
Overall Abilities[]
Chakra Pool & Chakra Control| When it comes to chakra Kiyooki falls in line with his kin by having a relatively low amount chakra despite being an accomplished shinobi. Often mocked for it he musters only a bit more than your average Genin. However, to combat this ever-dwindling pond of chakra he has honed the art Chakra of Control to the best of his abilities. Focusing his efforts not on increasing the amount he naturally possessed but on methods that prevented him from wasting even the smallest amount. Of course, he isn't perfect at it and struggles to pull off techniques that encompass areas larger than a small basketball court without exhausting his resources completely.
Fighting Style| Paper Cut Palm is a fighting style brimming with wispy movements that compliment a hit and run style of combat with the goal of evading retaliation and ultimately frustrating the enemy enough for Kiyooki to slip away. Lacking any proper taijutsu foundations of his own he taught himself by taking the blows drunken shinobi whom he lured into bar fights in order to study and then clumsily weave movements into a dance of unnecessary feints that confuse him as much as whomever he is eager to avoid. Palm strikes or chops reinforced by precise bursts of chakra are his bread and butter should evasion fail overall.
Hijutsu| Despite being labeled as wasted potential by his peers even they can admit that Kiyooki aggressively dedicates himself to honing the Paper Doll Technique of Aburatōrō Clan whenever he has a spare moment. Easily able to hold the scattered state of for an hour or so before his chakra finally begins to give way. A testament to his training in the art of chakra control. Beyond this simple application he has displays further mastery of the technique through isolating the change. Transforming different parts of his body into paper while the rest remained whole. Something that requires immense focus to maintain making it difficult to pull off amongst a chaotic battlefield. In the place of this he often centers the technique on one of his eyes and sends it forward to scout out areas to make sure they are safe or simply to scan for a route of escape.
Now when it comes to using the clans' techniques in combat, he focuses on a more dynamic style than his kin. Creating Tsukubo, Sodegarami, and Sasumata from premade paper dolls fitted with seals that alter how each weapons reacts when chakra flows through them. The Titan Heart Seal increases the weight of his paper weapons when chakra flows through it while the Numb Blade Seal increases their sharpness in a similar fashion. With the purpose of driving his foe into a corner he manipulates these paper weapons while constantly darting about as a cloud of paper dolls looking for the chance to overwhelm and capture his foe or a sign of retreat so that he himself may escape.
Ninjutsu| As secondary consideration for Kiyooki his wind release has never been at the forefront of any training. Honing it only as an accessory to his clans' techniques he uses it in conjunction with his Paper Doll Technique in order to travel faster or push unsuspecting foes into unfortunate positions. Though his execution of Wind Release beyond that of a background element is severely lacking and is something the elders of his clan have told him to correct if he ever hoped to be a leading figure one day.
Juinjutsu|
As a member of the Aburatōrō clan, Kiyooki uses Juinjutsu interchangeable with Fūinjutsu whenever the chance arises. Both are used to enhance his combat power, yet he appears to have a personal vendetta against Curse Seals like the one his entire clan had been marked with.
