The Land of Earth (土の国, Tsuchi no Kuni) has seen little attention in the series thus far. It is located north-west of the Land of Fire. Its government leader is the Earth Daimyō. The country is mostly comprised of desolate, rocky areas. The border of the Land of Earth runs along a rocky mountain range, blocking communication with other countries. The wind blowing from the north passes over these mountains, carrying small rocks from the Land of Earth to the surrounding countries. This famous natural phenomenon is called "Rock Rain" (岩雨, Gan'u). The "Rock Rice Cake" (岩餅, Iwa Mochi, English TV: Rock Mochi) is a regional specialty of the Land of Earth. The crispy texture of the rice cakes is said to be irresistible
Culture[]
The people of the Land of Earth are very humble, yet proud people. They strive to be well-rounded and live a balanced lifestyle while having an undying loyalty to the Land of Earth. They understand that if it is required they are willing to lay their lives down fighting even if the odds are not in their favor. The Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, set this precedent by his unyielding heroics and vigor during the Fourth Great Ninja War despite his advanced years.
The Will of Stone (石の意志, Ishi no Ishi) is buried deep within the spirits of the people from the Land of Earth. Similar to Konoha’s Will of Fire, the people live their lives by this great principle. It was said that the First Tsuchikage told a young Ōnoki that the stone holds no true significance to the monument, even going as far as simply throwing it back into the pool with the other stones and replacing it with another random stone. He uses these stones to demonstrate how essential the strong will of the people is to the Land of Earth and to stay steadfast to it without giving in to hate
Government[]
The government of the Land of Earth is not sophisticated in any way, shape, or form. At current, the Daimyō and the Tsuchikage of Land of Earth and Iwagakure happens to be Saitō Uragami. This title is known as the Supreme Leader. The Land of Earth also has a council and the current members are the scientific and research lead Katagawa Sozo and ANBU unit leader Kibachi Kamizuru.
The council has an important say in budgeting and votes in any important position that needs to be filled, but at the end of the day, the Daimyō has the ultimate say. In past years, the Daimyō has always been self-segregated from the rest of the population and does not understand the life of an average civilian of his country. Essentially making decisions without understanding the consequences their decisions may have. However, in recent times, Saitō Uragami has been much more involved and caring and in turn the people of Land of Earth seem to adore him.

After each and every villages defense systems had been broken, and the upsoar of the One-Hundred Years of Peace, the Supreme Leader, Saitō Uragami, had traveled to the Land Of Wind to rekindle the relationship between the two lands. During his conversation with the Kazekage, Yūichirō, the Supreme Leader had offered that Land of Wind become a colony of the Land of Earth. The reason being that the economy, military power, as well as the population of the Land of Wind's was subpar while Land of Earth's was not.
