The Nubatama (ヌバタマ一族, 𝐍𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐈𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐤𝐮) is a legendary clan of assassins hailing from 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 that settled into the hidden village after gaining residence and nationality several hundred years ago. They are a mysterious group of warriors who live for the thrill of the hunt and practitioners of the mystic arts that have given them their fame as "Crusaders of the Hunt" (狩猟の十字軍, Shuryō no jūjigun).

Their ancestor, Batta of the Hidden Cloud started their origin six years after escaping the Labyrinth Game Genjutsu, the kunoichi traveled to the distant land known as the Land of Bear where reports detail a ravenous, and hungry "unfathomable abomination" was terrorizing the local villagers and wildlife through a gory crusade wielding an "onyx black sword and war hammer" used to kill its victims. Batta and an old exorcist confronted the large, four-eyed creature with four raven black wings and more of a humanoid figure with four arms soaked in blood and gore, soulless black eyes that stared back at the duo that dared to stop its nightly ritual of killing, attacked Batta while the old priest in his dark black cloak began chanting while erecting a barrier using talismans to keep the spirit from escaping while Batta dealt chakra based attacks after learning physical attacks doesn't harm it. The spirit fought off both kunoichi and priest before escaping into the forest and taking residence within its vessel, a young boy who was neglected by his parents caused him to foster a deep-seeded rage that attracted the spirit,
