Backstory: They were descendants of a mighty village called Uzushiogakure, which had long ago been a bustling and powerful place. Otaru's family had a very important duty. Otaru's family had been entrusted with a sacred temple nestled deep within the Land of Fire's serene landscapes. The temple was a hidden sanctuary, quietly watching over those who shared the Uzumaki bloodline. Surrounded by lush greenery and ancient trees, its walls were adorned with mystical symbols and markings. Inside, there were beautiful statues of Uzumaki ancestors, and shelves lined with ancient scrolls. They found solace in the tranquility of the forest and dedicated their lives to maintaining the sacred temple. Otaru's parents taught him the value of their heritage and the importance of preserving their clan's legacy. As Otaru grew older, he became more curious about his family's history. He would spend hours in the temple, carefully studying the scrolls and absorbing the knowledge contained within them. The scrolls spoke of their ancestry, detailing the great deeds of their Uzumaki ancestors and the wisdom they possessed. Otaru's parents instilled in him a deep appreciation for their heritage and the responsibility of preserving their clan's legacy.
During his years at the prestigious shinobi academy, Otaru not only devoted himself to his studies but also immersed himself in the lores and adventures of his illustrious clan. When he wasn't attending classes or training, Otaru would eagerly delve into the scrolls and books that contained the rich history of the Uzumaki. Outside of their responsibilities at the sacred temple, Otaru's parents, who were retired shinobi themselves, had taken up new roles within the village of Konohagakure. They had become highly respected and skilled doctors at the renowned Konoha Hospital. Their expertise and compassionate care for others extended beyond their duty to the Uzumaki clan, as they dedicated their lives to healing the sick and injured in the village. As Otaru continued his studies at the academy, he began to shine both as a promising student and as a compassionate friend. He would often spend his lunch breaks in the library, surrounded by all kinds of books and scrolls, including tales of Uzumaki heroics as well as Land of Fire heroes and legends. Classmates would seek him out, captivated by his extensive knowledge, and he would happily share the stories that had ignited his own passion. After years of rigorous training and dedicated study at the prestigious shinobi academy, Otaru had finally reached a major milestone in his shinobi journey. With his unwavering determination and a wealth of knowledge about his Uzumaki heritage, Otaru recently graduated from the academy, earning the title of genin and now on his journey as a member of Team 7.
Notable Features: Otaru inherits the trademark Uzumaki Red hair and eyebrows.
Personality:
Otaru is largely described as an ambitious shinobi, he seeks to one day visit the Ruins of Uzushiogakure and dreams of a possibility to resettle it and revive the home of his clan. As a result, he has spent lots of time reading about his clan's history and listening to stories carried down generationally by his parents.
His love for his family is a profound and unwavering force that drives him to protect and cherish them above all else. He holds his familial bonds in the highest regard, seeing them as a source of strength and solace. This extends to all Uzumaki, oftentimes finding himself astonished when he meets another fellow clan member and seeking to befriend them.
Chakra Level:
Inheriting the Uzumaki Clan’s blood and with it the red hair, comes with its very strong life-force. As a result, Otaru is born with a great reserve of chakra, blessed and fortunate enough to start steps ahead of other shinobi his Age who are neither Uzumaki or Senju.
Chakra Sensory:
At first, Otaru’s sensory may appear to be typical for any other Genin. However, due to his knowledge and ability to use the Mind's Eye of the Kagura technique, by closing his eyes and opening his mind's eye, he’s able to find and track chakra. Still currently learning and honing his mastery of this technique, Otaru’s proficiency over this technique limits his view to a hundred meters. Moreover, his view is not as detailed only using rough silhouettes , but in time he aims to discern chakra signature’s in more detail.
Chakra Control:
Otaru knows how to control his chakra well, passing the academy tests with good results and lending from his greater chakra reserves to train for longer outside of academy hours. Coupled with his Mind’s Eye of the Kagura technique and his inherited ability of the Heal Bite, Otaru has consciously and sub-consciously together trained his chakra, channeling it through his system effectively to produce the techniques he wants to perform.
Jutsu and Techniques
Ninjutsu:
Otaru excels in Water Based Ninjutsu techniques, which he uses to expel water from his mouth to batter down his opponents with. Because of his naturally greater reserves of chakra, Otaru finds himself conjuring water techniques more easily and feel less taxed by it from their on average higher chakra consumption. Water Release: Wild Water Wave is considered Otaru’s bread and butter in combat, from spewing a swathe of water quickly to batter, push and attack his target with blunt force– he’s able to on the other hand control his chakra finely to finely pressurize the water in a longer ongoing jetstream to slice and dice. Water Release jutsu are most easily performed using existing water sources, such as lakes or rivers. Otaru can also create water within his body with chakra, which he expels from his mouth to batter down his opponents with. He also has garnered enough experience to learn how to crudely pressurize his water from his mouth to slice and dice
Fuinjutsu
Sealing techniques is not something taught in the Academy, but rather something that Otaru ventures out on his own to learn and study in his freetime. From visiting the library and reading up on it, to going through his own family's scrolls and learning from them. As such, Otaru does not know any sealing techniques yet, but claims to produce one soon, specifically the Uzumaki Sealing Technique as he has been practicing for some time to master. After some time, Otaru has expanded on his proficiency of using the Uzumaki Sealing Technique with no problem and great adaptability.
Medical Ninjutsu
Possessing a natural gift and aptitude for healing since as long as he could remember, it’s no surprise this specialization is his second best. Fortunate enough to inherit the Heal Bite, Otaru was encouraged at a young age to practice channeling and controlling his chakra to perform the basic Mystical Palm Technique, acting as a rite of passage to enable him to pursue becoming a Medical Shinobi.
Taijutsu:
Otaru’s ability in hand-to-hand combat is not his focus, but respectable in it nevertheless. Capable of holding his own, and learning the basics to maintain his footing and focus his stamina into confident punches and kicks. Otaru is rather mobile, as well as possess respectable reflexes which is often coupled with his ninja tools as well.
Summoning: Leeches
Kotsugai, is a leech that when summoned, the amount of chakra gathered in the hand determines the size for Kotsugai. From being the size of Otaru's hand to being large enough for Otaru to stand on Kotsugai's head (the same size as Ibuse; Hanzo's Salamander). Kotsugai secretes a healing saliva that accelerates wound healing and tissue regeneration and can manipulate blood, particularly extracting excess blood or promoting clotting when attached onto someone. He has the ability to extract poisons and toxins from the body and can track scents, making it useful in search and rescue missions. Considering, Otaru can create miniature Kotsugai to attach to others for means of communication assist in reconnaissance task as well.
